RESFARM kick-off meeting held in Santiago de Compostela, Spain

RESFARM project has officially started during the consortium meeting that took place in Santiago de Compostela (Spain) on 21 and 22, April 2015.

Organized by the project coordinator (Unións Agrarias-UPA), the event was attended by the founding members of RESFARM, a number of guests and a representative of the European Commission. The meeting included interventions of representatives of farmers, financiers, public authorities, technicians committed to the aims of RESFARM. A number of activities were scheduled for the coming months, include the performance of an extensive survey addressed to experts and farmers in Spain, Italy and Greece.

At the end of the event, a press conference took place in order to communicate the initiative to the media in the same city, to present the project to the national mass.

The meeting has demonstrated the opportunity of such different stakeholders working together in order to prepare the ground for investments in on-farm renewable energy production systems , and the necessity to take a common European approach to make it happen.
